Background

Coffee exports from East Timor represent a modest fraction of global coffee production—amounting to less than 1%—yet this burgeoning industry serves as a vital lifeline for the nation's populace. An estimated 25% of East Timorese households depend on the thriving coffee sector for their financial sustenance. At the heart of this industry is a cooperative that anchors itself across the diverse regions of Ermera, Ainaro, Aileu, Manufahi, and Liquiçá. This cooperative comprises dedicated, traditional small-scale farmers who are the stewards of their land and the custodians of their community’s future. When we choose to purchase East Timor's coffee, we are directly contributing to an economic lifeline that sustains families, fosters community development, and encourages the preservation of time-honoured agricultural practices.

Organic and from our near neighbours

Organic and from our near neighbours is what drew me to try this recently. It is more earthy and stronger than Blend 4 and I am still getting used to it. I do prioritise organic, so it will be on top of my list before long.
