The Origin Behind the Coffee
Our current decaf is a single origin from Indonesia:
- Indonesia Bukit Marante Genuine Sulawesi Kalosi Toraja, Grade 1, from the Toraja highlands of Sulawesi. It's decaffeinated by the Swiss Water® Process, which keeps the bold, syrupy body and spicy cocoa character the region is known for. Roasted fresh at our roastery in Robe, South Australia.
Flavour Profile
- Flavour Profile: Baker's chocolate, dark cocoa and brown sugar, with rounded grapefruit and white grape acidity, nectarine and plum.
- Spice & Earth: Warm spice, sweet leather, black tea and a candy-like sweetness.
- Body & Aroma: Bold, thick and syrupy, with a spicy cocoa aroma.
- Origin: Indonesia Bukit Marante (Sulawesi Kalosi Toraja), Grade 1.
- Swiss Water® Process: Green beans soak in water that draws out the caffeine. Carbon filters trap the caffeine and the flavour goes back into the beans. Chemical-free and 99.9% caffeine-free.
- Best Served: Black or with milk, equally good either way.

How is the caffeine actually removed?
Via the Swiss Water Process — a chemical-free method using only water, time and activated carbon filters, removing 99.9% of caffeine while preserving flavour.
What's the best way to brew it?
It's versatile across espresso, plunger, stovetop, cold drip, V60 or even as an affogato.
Black or with milk?
Equally good either way. The bold, syrupy body holds up well with milk, and black you get more of the spice and fruit.
How fresh will my coffee be?
We roast in small batches in Robe, SA and only roast what we expect to sell, so your coffee never sits around for long. When we're busy, it's often roasted the same day you order. Order by 3pm for same day shipping.
